STEAM in Action in Room 147
We have begun an inquiry into weather.
What makes weather change? Why is it windy one day and not the next day?
Why is their snow? Why is snow cold?
What makes it windy? How can we know what weather we will have? (predicting)
As part of this unit we began a STEAM based inquiry on wind.
Our Kindergartners explored weather, wind and motion by creating their own windsocks.
We observed and graphed the weather and the predicted how the weather would affect our windsocks.
While outside we also observed that the wind can come from different directions and that it can be blocked by man-made (buildings) and natural obstacles (bushes/trees).
